About the Role

A growing construction company in Commerce City is adding an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role focuses on invoice processing, coding, vendor communication, and supporting the accounting team with accurate and timely payments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and experienced with high-volume AP.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and code a high volume of invoices with accuracy and efficiency
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation
• Manage weekly check runs and electronic payments
• Communicate directly with vendors to resolve discrepancies and answer payment questions
• Maintain vendor records, including W-9 documentation
• Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on missing or incorrect invoices
• Assist with month-end close by ensuring AP activity is complete and accurate
• Support internal teams by responding to AP-related inquiries
• Maintain organized records and follow established accounting procedures

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounts payable experience, ideally within construction or a project-based environment
• Strong invoice coding and attention to detail (cost codes, job costing experience is a plus)
• Comfortable working with accounting systems and Excel
• Clear, professional communication skills with both vendors and internal teams
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks
